Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d) – AI Products

As an industry leader in their field, my client unites several globally successful brands under its roof and has increased its market share consistently over the last 30 years. 

Their success has led to the creation of a AI department that currently consists of more than 350 experts in the areas of Data Science, Data and Cloud Engineering, solving problems around topics like smart manufacturing (IIoT), logistical optimisation and data integration across various clouds and systems.

With an open vacancy in their AI Pricing Team, they are currently looking for another Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d) to join.

The team, consisting of about 15 Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Software Engineers and Product Owners, aims to enable and support the business in making smarter and more efficient decisions regarding their product and service portfolio as well as their pricing strategies through the application of AI.

Responsibilities

As Senior Software Engineer your focus is the development and implementation of AI products in the form of applications for a variety of uses throughout the business. For example, this could be a software with integrated Machine Learning models for the forecasting and automated real time adjustments of prices depending on conditions such as the good’s demand.

Tasks include

• Evaluation of suitable solutions, e.g. regarding their technical feasibility, efficiency and sustainability in close collaboration with other team members
• Selection of the appropriate tech stack, design of the architectural concept and development of production-ready applications
• Testing and deployment
• Development and integration of REST APIs
• Leading technical discussion and, if interested, workshops to further develop the team’s skillset and expertise
• Collaboration with other teams and departments to drive the overall infrastructure forward throughout all business units

Skills & Experience

• At least 4 years of relevant professional experience in Software or Application Development or a similiar field within a modern (data driven) IT environment
• Fluency when coding and scripting in Python
  Expertise in Java is an alternative to Python but requires the willingness to learn the later
• Professional experience with Spark, Databricks and Kubernetes
• Some experience with Cloud solutions would be beneficial but are not mandatory (ideally Azure but GCP and AWS are good alternatives)
• Good communicational skills across all levels and areas including non-technical staff
• Used to working in English on a daily basis and ideally in an international team
