As an industry leader in their field, my client unites several globally successful brands under its roof and has increased its market share consistently over the last 30 years.
Their success has led to the creation of an AI department that currently consists of more than 350 experts in areas like Data Science, Data Engineering and Cloud Engineering, solving problems around topics like smart manufacturing (IIoT), logistical optimisation and secure data integration.
Expanding their IoT Team, they are currently looking for an additional Software Engineer (m/f/d) to join, who comes with an affinity for Computer Vision.
Responsibilities
The IoT Team is currently formed by 5 experts and is a specialised unit within the Computer Vision department (25 people in total), developing and implementing solutions for problems that can arise during the manufacturing and sales process of goods.
For example, they build and deploy Computer Vision supported applications that recognise and identify a good’s condition within seconds and allow for automated anomaly detection and allocation without manual interference or shutdown time.
As a Software Engineer in this team, your responsibilities include
- Evaluation of suitable solutions, e.g. regarding their technical feasibility, efficiency and sustainability in close collaboration with other team members
- Selection of the appropriate tech stack
- Design of the architectural concepts and development of production-ready applications
- Testing and deployment
- Collaboration with other teams and departments to drive the overall infrastructure forward throughout all business units
Skills & Experience
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience as a Software or Application Engineer (or a similar role), ideally creating AI supported applications from scratch
- Profound knowledge of the principles of modern software development and integration
- Proficiency with C++. Experience with Python would be beneficial
- Good hands-on skills with Docker and Kubernetes as well as CI/CD relevant tools like Git and/or Azure DevOps
- If no practical experience with Machine or Deep Learning, at least a deeper interest in that field
- Good communicational skills across all levels and areas (including non-technical staff)
- The ability of working in an international, versatile team
- Fluency in English; German is not required
- Willingness to work on site with the rest of the team once a week
